Lickety Split, Tumble-ina
So how do you know when your child truly adores something? Well, when passion overtakes normal function, of course.
Over the weekend, my oldest daughter, who has been turning flips, cartwheels, round-offs and practicing head stands all over the house for the last week, was overcome by her passion for the sport.
She told us, "Mom, Dad, I just CAN'T even walk! I just HAVE to do gymnastics!"

I've heard this from my son about Star Wars figures, Hot Wheels, and now robots. It consumes him to a point where he can't even sleep at night because "I can't fall asleep because I'm thinking about robots all the time!"
Helping facilitate a child's passion is perhaps the most important role of a parent. We too often try to make our children fit a role or an activity that isn't them.
That's cool. She's like Tootie from Facts of Life. She just couldn't stay off those Roller Skates.
